چکیده

The study of extreme phenomena in hydrology generally involves frequency analysis and a time series analysis. In this article we provide enough mathematics to enable researchers apply wide range probability distributions analyses hydrological drought. presents drought methodology for the determination minimum annual flows, durations deficit volumes exceedance probabilities common water management. Eight statistical from different families with numbers parameters are used method ordinary moments linear estimate distributions. All mathematical characteristics necessary application eight analyzed distributions, moments, presented. performance is evaluated using relative mean error absolute error. For only that have lower bound close value should be used, defining characteristic having asymptotic at value. A case presented Prigor River. We believe use software without knowledge behind it not beneficial field technical hydrology; thus, dissemination methods models necessary. research was conducted within Faculty Hydrotechnics.

Univariate Frequency Analysis Using FAmle

FAmle is a R package that may be used in order to carry out tasks that pertain to univariate frequency analysis. Basically, two general frameworks are being entertained here: maximum likelihood and Bayesian. More precisely, for a given problem, the user may decide to estimate the unknown parameters via maximum likelihood, and to then proceed to statistical inference accordingly, or to use a ful...

Univariate Parametric Survival Analysis using GS-distributions

The GS-distribution is a family of distributions that provide an accurate representation of any unimodal univariate continuous distribution. In this contribution we explore the utility of this family as a general model in survival analysis. We show that the survival function based on the GS-distribution is able to provide a model for univariate survival data and that appropriate estimates can b...

Hydrological drought analysis using SDI index in Halilrud basin of Iran

Hydrological drought analysis using SDI index in Halilrud basin of Iran Abstract Nowadays, drought is considered as damaging environmental phenomenon which affects natural resources and social communities. Therefore it will be an important issues that magnitude and effects of these phenomena to be considered. To do this we used L-moment method for regional homogeneity testing. The Streamflow Dr...

Multivariate quantiles in hydrological frequency analysis

2 Several hydrological phenomena are described by two or more correlated characteristics. 3 These dependent characteristics should be considered jointly to be more representative of the 4 multivariate nature of the phenomenon. Consequently, probabilities of occurrence cannot be 5 estimated on the basis of univariate frequency analysis (FA). The quantile, representing the value 6 of the variable...

Sustainable water resource management under hydrological uncertainty

[1] A proper understanding of the sources and effects of uncertainty is needed to achieve the goals of reliability and sustainability in water resource management and planning. Many studies have focused on uncertainties relating to climate inputs (e.g., precipitation and temperature), as well as those related to supply and demand relationships. In the end-to-end projection of the hydrological i...
